Just outside the historic town of Hoorn, in the picturesque village of Schellinkhout, and adjacent to the West Frisian Ringdike, is our cottage with a magnificent view over the lake ijsselmeer.

From the living room you have a perfect view over the ijsselmeer, a beautiful lake. You can see the historical sailing ships passing by. Our cottage lies within the historic triangle of the old trading towns Hoorn, Enkhuizen and Medemblik. Here you can find many historical monuments, houses and museums of the rich trading history, for example the v.O.C. Or Dutch East-Asia Company the first company in the world to issue stocks.
also you can find the ‘Zaanse Schans’ nearby. Here you can watch the way our traditional mills work inside, and the old crafts of making cheese and wooden clogs. In springtime the tulips bloom, the fruit trees have blossoms, and the cows go outside on the meadow. Behind the dike, less than 50 meters from the house, is the recreation area Uiterdijk consisting of sunbathing areas and playing fields to the water of the ijsselmeer. An ideal place to sunbathe, play, swim or windsurf.
