Amazing accommodation, spectacular views.
Review written by Caroline (Wolverhampton)
We have stayed here three times now, and will continue to visit. The accommodation is excellent.
Just a short distance walk to the beach and restaurants. The views over the estuary and the harbour are breathtaking.
Great place to stay

Home from home (with a view)
Review written by Steve (Woodford Green)
All home comforts in this spacious, light and airy flat. Fabulous views. Very comfy double bed (and chaise longue) for a good night's sleep. Wake up to a view across the Mawddach estuary. Flight of steps from the road, and then a flight of stairs to the door at the rear of the property (this is stressed in owner's description). Barmouth town is a half a mile downhill with Co-op, Iceland and Spar for supplies. Nearest pub (The Last Inn) 5minutes with a selection of real ales, food and live entertainment. Ideal base to motor through Snowdonia and beautiful North Wales. Bus stop outside the flat. Lots of walks in and around Barmouth, plus the Cambrian Line for trains. Bike hire nearby.

Holiday at 8 Porkington Terrace- August 2018
Review written by Cathy (Skelmersdale , Lancashire )
We arrived to find a very beautiful spacious two bedroom flat which is fully self contained overlooking the harbour of Barmouth.
We had a very restful week, enjoyed local walks, and hospitality. Our relatives were staying close by and said they would contact the owners of No. 8 in the first instance to try to book before their current stay?
We found the accommodation to be of The highest standard and loved our stay. We will book again.
Highly recommended

We were very lucky with the weather.
We loved the view from the bay windows, the decor and cleanliness of the appmt.
Thank you again and hope we will be able to stay again.
Great location with fantastic views over estuary
Review written by Sarah (Norwich, UK)
Well appointed apartment, warm and comfortable with everything we needed. Stunning views from the bay windows in lounge and double bedroom. Short walk to pubs, cafes and restaurants and access to Barmouth Rail Bridge just across the road from the apartment. There are a number of steps to access the property, but well worth it for the views.
Beautiful and amazing place
Review written by Joanne (Iver, England)
This is the best place to stay in Barmouth; beautifully furnished, comfortable and clean. The location is exceptional, you could not ask for a better place. The views are amazing over the sea and mountains. We watched life out of the window every evening; Osprey, rabbits, seagulls, boats, the occasional walker and cyclists across the bridge. Everything you need is in the apartment and as a family we felt at home. A short walk into town where there is everything you might want: pharmacy, food shops, pubs, restaurants, ice-creams, bike hire, pottery painting/making for kids, theatre/cinema, walks up the mountain-Barmouth heritage trail is amazing.
Great for walkers
Review written by Johnl (UK)
A very comfortably furnished apartment with a wonderful estuary view.
Not too sure about Barmouth as a resort, it was October, a bit grey and very quiet, but plenty of reasonable places to eat.
The real attraction to this area must be for walkers with options of flat walks around the estuary and hill walking up the coast, all starting from the house. Using the car, train or bus opens up a lot more options in South Snowdonia with Cadair Idris viewable from the flat on a clear day, within 10 miles.
Not a fishing type myself, but I was very impressed by the catches of sea bass I witnessed from the bridge, just across the road, so an excellent base for walkers and fishermen.
A winning combination

This first floor flat delivers on every level, spacious, well equipped, with a very comfortable bed and beautiful furnishings. It is perfectly located on the way into Barmouth by the bridge, with spectacular views across the estuary and harbour. There are walks nearby for those energetic souls or the more fainthearted like us!The owner, who lives on the ground floor,is very friendly and knowledgeable, giving advice about local amenities and places to visit, but not in an intrusive way.Best accommodation ever. We shall certainly return!
Porkington Tce
Review written by Frank (Leicester, Uk)
This is an absolutely perfect flat for a small family or couple wanting to enjoy the snowdonia and cardigan bay areas of wales. The flat is very well equipped and furnished with stunning views over the bay and estuary. The flat also offers great views of the coastal trains which our 5 year old loved!
What topped it off was the very lovely and helpful owner who was always happy to help.
I would fully recommend this flat to anyone wanting to get away for a some peace and quiet in one of the most beautiful parts of the uk.
A Wonderful Accommodation by the Sea
Review written by Mike (Waterloo, Canada)
Stayed at this wonderful accommodation for 6 nights with family; the apartment is on the second floor of a terrace facing the estuary and sea; the views are spectacular! The apartment is roomy and well furnished and equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Taly Garreg and would highly recommend to anyone.
Great Holiday in Barmouth
Review written by Lynne
We had a great holiday staying in this lovely flat, it was very clean, comfortable, and had everything you could need. The view from the windows is stunning. We loved Barmouth and the surrounding area, and hope to stay here again soon.
Lovely holiday home
Review written by Bee (Bristol, UK)
Have stayed at Tal Y Garreg three times and really love it. The flat is spacious, clean, well equipped, comfortable, characterful and homely. The views across the estuary to the mountains are beautiful. Norma is welcoming and helpful but at the same time leaves you to enjoy the flat and your holiday.
It's a short easy walk to the beach or the centre of Barmouth for shops, restaurants etc., or for something more energetic you can walk/cycle across the bridge and along the stunning estuary to the lovely George III pub or walk up behind Barmouth to see the breathtaking view from Panarama Walk.
Barmouth Flat
Review written by Roger (Weymouth, Dorset, England)
I stayed in the flat at Porkington Terrace last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was made to feel very welcome with home made welsh cakes and marmalade, delicious. The flat is very spacious and comfortable with all you need, not to mention the fantastic sea and mountain views. Norma is a lovely lady and I hope to come back again, Barmouth and surrounding area is one of my favourite places.
Beautiful flat, amazing views
Review written by Chrissy
We stayed there for a week in September and had probably one of our best ever UK breaks. Norma, the owner is lovely, the flat is just perfect and the location has everything; good pubs, walks, cycle routes and the Harbour.
Not sure what the village would be like in the summer, but out of season you couldn't ask for more. Will definitely be going back.
A wonderful stay
Review written by Clare (Dorset, England)
This flat is an absolute gem of a place. It's about 10 minutes walk from the centre of town, so is away from the hustle and bustle, but near enough for a pleasant walk to the shops.
The flat itself is beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable with good quality furnishings. The view from the living room and master bedroom are stunning, and the whole flat has a feeling of elegance and spaciousness that makes for a very relaxing holiday. The landlady is extremely friendly and helpful, and we (myself, husband and 14 year old son) would definitely stay here again. Very highly recommended!
Perfect for a long weekend away
Review written by steve (oswestry)
The apartment was just what we were looking for! It had everything we needed for a long weekend and Norma was not far away if there was anything that we needed to find out. She was extremely welcoming and her Welsh cakes were a welcome treat too! The views are fantastic and the reclining chair in the window was never empty! The apartment was immaculate and we could have stayed longer. We would highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Barmouth.

Would highly recommend.
Review written by Anne (East Sussex)
A well maintained flat in the most beautiful of settings. Everything you need is on your doorstep and the views from the front of the property are breathtaking. There are quite a few steps up to the property, but this did not cause us any problems. Would be happy to recommend.
Half term holiday in Wales, Barmouth
Review written by Immie (Bristol, England)
We stayed here for our half term holiday in Febuary with my Mum, Dad and younger brother. We really enjoyed staying in the apartment, it was spacious, had a sea view and could see the trains going over the bridge. You could not hear the train at night which was good. The home-made marmalade and welsh cakes were delicous. There were lots of things to do from walking and horse riding to shopping. The weather was great and sunny but a few days were rainy and a bit misty and sometimes there wasn't a parking place right outside of the apartment. Had a lovely time and would love to stay here again.
Great place to stay for a holiiday.
Great week for us!
Review written by Ray (Solihull, England)
Stayed here for a week in early August. Flat was spotless and well appointed. Big bedroom and lounge, and newly refurbished bathroom. Norma was very helpful, and the parking was only a short 2 minute walk away. Good base for a family to use if exploring this area. Nice local restaurants, and fabulous view from the accomodation of the estuary. Just a short walk into the town, and nice and quiet in the evenings.
The complete package
Review written by Gary & Laura (Truro, UK)
This flat was ideal for the two of us. On arrival everything looked pristine. The bedroom was a good size, overlooking the estuary, and the bed really comfy. The living room was very homely and had the armchair strategically placed to make the most of the wonderful views out over the bay. The kitchen had everything you needed. I thought it was really handy having little supplies of day to day kitchen essentials like cling film and silver foil, as well as salt/vinegar, sauces, herbs,etc...the kind of things that you would probably only use once when on holiday but can't be bothered to buy yourself!!!
The location was superb. Parking was never a problem. The flat is handy for local bus stops, strolling into town (5 mins) or setting off on local walks. There is even a small beach acrosss the road, viewable from the flat.
We are already looking at our diary to see when we can visit again.

Had a brilliant week in Barmouth from 7/8/10. Flat was very spacious, beautifully furnished and in an excellent location overlooking the estuary - fabulous views from all front windows. Owner Norma was very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely visit Barmouth again, stay at this property and recommend it to everyone.

Review written by Lucy (Cardiff)
Tal y Garreg is lovely - spacious, easy, well-equipped, comfortable, perfect for families or a group of adults - a stroll to the little beach under the bridge and into town, we didn't get into our car for five days. The view is outstanding. Highly recommended.
