The surrounding scenery is breathtaking and has to be seen to be believed!
An extremely friendly family run accommodation. Warm, comfortable and homely atmosphere and equally well furnished. A relaxing, nicely decorated sitting room with woodburning stove which was kindly kept going (by the owners!) for our whole stay there & plenty of tea & coffee making facilities within the cottage.
Bedrooms were warm & comfortable also with bathroom and shower nearby. We even had the use of their utility room. Very handy having the adjoining hallway between the two properties for shoes, luggage etc. and good for a general sitting area when kids waiting to go out.
Plenty to do nearby - Slieve League Cliffs not far away and Maghera Waterfall & Beach just down the road! Pleasant walks, lovely scenery and lots of amenities in the nearby town of Ardara. Nice shops, pubs, hotels, cafes, restaurants. We enjoyed using the bike hire in the town and also made use of the video/DVD hire shop.
It was a wonderful, relaxing holiday and the owners could'nt of been more helpful with offering information on the local area, lending maps and serving a delicious breakfast (at a time to suit us) every morning in a beautiful sun lit conservatory style dining room.
We will definately be back again soon - many, many, thanks for a truly "getting away from it all holiday!!!".
Although listed as a B&B – you actually get the use of the whole of a thatched cottage with the owners in an adjacent part of the complex. The owners were very approachable and helped with advice of where to visit in particular some great insider tips on the local beaches. We felt very at home here and enjoyed the breakfast which was extensive and made use of local produce including home-made bread.
The cottage is situated on a peninsular just 5 minutes drive from charming small town of Ardara with its pubs and shops – I would defiantly recommend taking home some of the local woollen products from the factory shop. This is an area that requires your own transport and you can’t always guarantee the weather – but staying at this cottage adds to the sense you are experiencing a unique part of Ireland.
